Beni Ourain rugs originated from the Beni Ourain tribe, a collective of 17 Berber tribes settled in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. These rugs weren’t initially designed for decorative purposes. Instead, they served as warm bed coverings during the harsh winter months. Each rug’s design was a symbolic narrative, reflecting the weaver’s personal experiences and tribal traditions.
